SPIRITUAL DIRECTION SESSIONS
Spiritual direction explores life from the inside out. Together, we will take a look at your life and consider what you believe about God and how you relate to God. Depending on your needs, we may look at prayer, meditating, discovering who God is and how He feels about you or talk about other issues that will enrich your spiritual journey. Allowing God to guide both of us, we will explore and practice ways that lead you to connecting on a deeper level to our creator.
WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
Spiritual Direction is an ancient practice of Western Christian spirituality that is experiencing a global renewal in the 21st century as it brings new depth and insight to thousands of people. Many of us are looking beyond the spiritual “do’s and don’ts†that we grew up with and want to find a deeper, personal relationship with God. Spiritual Direction is a sacred place to learn more about our true self as we experience the true God.
The practice of spiritual direction assumes that everything in a person’s life is ultimately involved with our creator. While God is the true director, His Presence is mediated through a trusting one-to-one or small group relationship. Spiritual direction with Connie occurs through face to face meetings, typically twice a month. The sessions are 50 minutes and the charge is $50 per session.
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM THERAPY?
In therapy, one often comes with a problem to work through, or to overcome challenges of our past. Spiritual life coaching or spiritual direction is about discovering what God is doing in our lives, nurturing that connection, and seeking to live deep, authentic, spiritual lives. At times we may touch on past issues or current challenges, but the goal is not centered on eliminating those issues as much as it is discovering where God might be working in those issues.
